Labor Day? Heck yeah!

Known around here as 'free child Labor Day." Funny, last Labor Day, we were doing the exact same thing. {Yard work} Our yard was so bad and so dry ~ if we lived where others could actually see us ~ our neighbors would be staging an intervention.

First up ~ replenish all flower beds with fresh pine-straw. Can't justify buying straw ~  when you have six helping hands and you live in a forest of pine trees.  chop-chop, get busy!

We are in the process of having brick borders built around our flower beds everything. This means we need mountains of pine-straw.
Break out the equipment, my Jimmy finds a faster way...
He pushes piles and little sisters load...

Then my big Jimmy has an even better plan... for even larger piles...

{yard raking attire}
When all the work was done we enjoyed grilling and chilling... while the kids played in the brick-man's sand.

Kittyboy watched with delight... Man I love that cat!
