in agreement (for a few minutes)

are cats more useful than dogs?
i mean, personally i would never ask this question.

because i think cats do important things. like protect their family from imminent death! cats feel the need to kill dangerous things... for the record, my cats have never-ever stalked an innocent caged rabbit. then ripped it to bloody shreds in front of small children. because cats are smart and cats have big hearts ;)

it may look like kittyboy is stalking an innocent baby black snake... but through the graves family's snake colored glasses, this was the beginnings of a 5ft. copperhead.

"ain't nothin' but a thing! just earning my keep!"
is that a look of a swagger feline or what!?

our wiener dog must have overheard the praise being showered on the cat. maybe wanting to redeem himself worthy after his accident on the rug?
i will give charlie credit, he views this snake through the same glasses as myself! big and fierce!

his terrified reaction was embarrassing, yet fascinating for the cat. i mean really!? the men in our house glorify this dog's God given hunting skills? and call him smart? and useful? he smells bad and eats living photography props!

yeah, that's the face of a fearless hunter....
kittyboy chilled out and enjoyed the freak show that is our dog.
i mean really!?
if a cat wanted to, it could finish this job in seconds.

out of respect for snake lovers ...
i will stop this story and pictures here ;)
let's just say (for a few minutes) our family  was in agreement... cats are way more useful!

prom take two

hot off the press...
prom pictures are posting while andy and anna katherine are still at the prom.
maybe because she has been texting me all night for  previews.
they looked so sweet!

paddle pond

oh my godness. i came across this picture of a hidden little place my kids loved to go. it was in the woods near our house. they would take the golf cart or ride their bikes. i would see them pack up funny picnics of pickles and saltines. tote blankets and beach towels, charlie always in tow.

they called it 'paddle pond' because it was shaped like a paddle. when i see it, i think snakes. but what a sweet memory hearing them talk about their paddle pond.

take TWO

prom take TWO is friday.  preparing a boy for prom verses a girl... well hello!  an entirely different experience.

to get bennett prom ready we had to:

1. buy the tickets
2. dry clean the tuxedo
3. order flowers

anna katherine on the other hand:

1. pour over dress selections
2. argue over the amount allowed on a prom dress
3. call all over the united states to find 'that one' dress

4. track the dress package hourly ;)
5. take the dress for a fitting
6. shop for shoes
7. argue over the amount allowed for shoes
8. order shoes

{remind her we are not planning a royal wedding}

9. view her pintrest board of hair styles, flower choices, jewelry....
10. and the PICTURES: where boys pay no attention to 'prom pictures,' girls obsess over prom pictures.

10. order picture props from etsy
11. make hair and make up appointments
12. shop for jewelry
12. pedicure and manicure? tanning bed? no! spray tan? limo?  really?
{remind her that we are not dipping into her college fund}

it's all fun! friday will be here before we know it!

senior prom

bennett's senior prom was last week. he took a sweetheart of a girl. they have been friends since they were tiny and yes, i am biased, but i think they looked precious. i snapped a 'few' pictures.
